Carmel

Holy Family’s Carmel Group meets the 2nd Monday of the month from September through May. The evening consists of chanting Evening Prayer together in Church, Father Thomas Dufner leading us in our study time, quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament (mental prayer), chanting Night Prayer and then Social Time. Since we are not an official secular Carmelite community, you are free to join us, any month, and experience Carmelite spirituality as your schedule and vocation allows. (Some of our Holy Family Carmel participants are also professed members in several of the seven Carmelite secular communities in the Twin Cities.) Even if you have never prayed the breviary before or read Saint Therese of Lisieux, you are welcome to join us for an evening of prayer, study and friendship! This year our book is "Spiritual Childhood - The Spirituality of St. Therese of Lisieux" by Fahter Vernon Johnson. It is published by Ignatius Press, retails for $13.95, and can be ordered online. A limited number of copies will be available for sale at our first Carmelite meeting on October 10th. We meet the 2nd Monday of the month, October through May, beginning at 6:30pm downstairs at Church in Moorman Hall. Our time together ends at approx. 9pm.
